Book Fest – The Grand Festival of Books and the Albanian Language
For the sixth consecutive year, TEG will host the annual book fair, Book Fest; a year dedicated to honoring the Albanian language and culture, meeting authors, and celebrating the work of Kadare, reading fairy tales with the little ones, and enjoying our offers of up to 50% off. Readers are welcome at the Green Entrance from October 17 to November 6, 2024.
Book Fest will welcome book enthusiasts until November 6 at the Green Entrance, one of the main gateways to TEG. As every year, this event beautifully captures the October book atmosphere, but this time there will be a special tribute to the Year of the Albanian Language. Throughout the center, the most beautiful verses written about our language by the finest Albanian authors will be displayed.
Unlike previous editions, this year, readers will have the opportunity to meet many authors, get their signatures, and share moments with them. A few months ago, Ismail Kadare, one of the most renowned Albanian writers, passed away, but this year there will still be a corner featuring almost all of his works as a modest tribute to his legacy. There will also be a focus on the phenomenon of BookTok in the Albanian book market, widely known around the world for several years now.
This time, the organizers have also thought about Albanian children's literature, where there will be a corner for young readers who can listen to or read fairy tales themselves and meet famous Albanian authors. Additionally, the little ones will have the chance to organize various games at their dedicated corner.
October is also the month of the Nobel Prize, and at the corner dedicated to Nobel laureates, the 2024 author Han Kang, with her book The Vegetarian, translated by Bujar Hudhri and published by "Onufri," will be featured. Moreover, there will be many surprises in anticipation of Halloween, where we will have fantastic offers on Mystery & Thriller novels, a genre that has seen a drastic increase in recent years in our market.
For those who have made reading a way of life, there will be the latest releases in Albanian literature. Over 400 titles of various genres and categories, published during 2024, will be showcased at the Book Fest booths. Undoubtedly, Yuval Noah Harari’s latest release Nexus, which was launched on September 10, 2024, by “Botart” in Albanian, simultaneously with other countries worldwide, will also be presented.
A surprise awaits with the biographies of Elon Musk and Kamala Harris, ready for readers.
The most special and appealing part remains the offers, which, once again, will go up to 50%. For this contribution we make to readers, we are endlessly grateful to the majority of publishers who support us in such cultural projects that aim to bring books to where the readers are. Visit Book Fest at the Green Entrance in TEG to discover and benefit from the offers.
This year, our booths will also feature books in English, mainly publications in business, motivation, teen novels, children’s books, and various recommendations.
For the first time, this year’s Book Fest will enable the use of the student card, through which young people holding this card will benefit from a 15% discount on the cover price of every book found at the "Book Fest" booths.
Once again, we will have partnerships with influential figures from the book world to recommend and promote reading, as well as quizzes and rewarding games for our readers.
We believe that reading remains the best way to understand others, the world around us, and ourselves. Through books and with books, we have the opportunity to organize our knowledge better than with any other tool, as we grow personally and professionally, expanding the horizons of our imagination. Amid the great temptations that technology and the consumer industry challenge each of us with, "Book Fest" will be where the people are, ready to show once again the extraordinary magic that reading holds and to provide the best support with its offers, recommendations, and services for readers.
